If you had to write a poem about your life RIGHT NOW, what would it be about? Explain your answer in at least 4 to 5 sentences.

If I had to write a poem right now, I would write it about finally finding happiness. For the first time in my life, I am happy. I have always struggled with being happy and having anxiety. Now though, I have friends who are truly there for me, and for the first time, I have a boyfriend. Him and my friends have helped me become truly happy. I didn't really have friends growing up and if I did, they weren't really good friends with me. Now though, I have good friends. My boyfriend has helped me the most. He shows me unconditional love and happiness no matter what mood he is in.  absent absent

When you are in a mood that you do not like, what are some strategies that you use to change your mood?

When I am in a bad mood I like to either do a craft or go and rant and find comfort in my boyfriend. Crafting has always brought me peace. I love doing them and I have so many ideas that I want to do. My boyfriend also helps me a lot. He is really good at comforting me when I am having a bad day or down. He always knows how to make me feel better. Today in class we worked on commonlit I learned about two short stories

Describe your personal approach to creativity. What steps do you follow when you’re working on a project. Tell me about a project you created that you were most proud of.

When I am working on something creative, I like to be alone and have a plan or reference. I am really good at copy or tracing pictures or creative artsie things but I don't like to come up with them myself. I have many projects that I have done that I am very proud of. The current one that I am working on right now is a map. My boyfriend loves Lord Of The Rings so I decided that I wanted to make the map of it for him. I traced the picture on a giant piece of paper. It has taken me many days but it is so worth all of the effort. I can't wait to see the finished product.  Today in class we worked on writable  I learned about many new words

After two weeks of studying rhetorical devices, types of rhetoric, and methods for identifying rhetorical techniques, which rhetorical device do you find most effective or compelling, and why?

The rhetorical device that I find the most useful is Hyperbole. When I am telling a story, or venting about something that is on my mind I always use a Hyperbole. They have helped me a lot in the classroom and in my daily life. Also, they help me in multiple classes, not just American Literature. My AP American History class I have to do a lot of writing and all Rhetoric's, not just Hyperbole all help me.  absent absent

Choose a vocabulary word that resonates with you personally. Write a blog post explaining why this word is significant to you, including any personal memories or experiences that link you to the word.

From today's lesson, the word that stuck out to me the most was the word Staid.  This word stuck out to me because my whole life people have said that I talk more "proper" or "polite" than most other kids my age. For example, when I joined ROTC, my instructors both said that I was very respectable and dignified. When I was applying for my current job, everyone there all said that I was so dignified for my age that they all thought I was older.  Today in class we worked on Vocab Lesson 7 I learned about 15 new words.

Write about a time you didn’t feel like yourself.

For a long time I didn't feel like myself. Years went by when I never truly knew who I was. This feeling has always been with me ever since I was a little kid. I remember being in the first grade and not knowing who I was. It only got worse as I got older. Sophomore year, I had the worst school year of my life. My mental health was bad and I was struggling with severe anxiety. I refused to get help because I was scared to reach out. I didn't have anyone to go to and I was worried that if I got medicated then I would become a different "not me". I eventually did end up trying medication and I am so glad that I did. For the first time I felt ok. Then came Junior year. Right when the year started, everything went wrong. During this time, I lost myself again, not that I had fully found me yet. I felt so lost cause I had lost everything normal in my life. Then I met my boyfriend. And yes I know how cringe this sounds but he truly did save me. He helped me find the real me...

Describe a place where you feel the most at peace and explain why.

One place that I feel most at peace is the beach. Nothing bad has ever happened to me while at the beach. The sound of the waves and the warm sun hitting my face makes everything in the world feel better. I love the feeling of laying out and feeling the sun all over me. I love the sound of waves crashing and seagulls cawing. I love to walk the beach while looking for seashells. I love everything there is on the beach.  absent absent

Reflect on a time when you had to rely on someone else. How did it feel?

I don't normally like to rely on other people. I don't like the feeling of sharing my thoughts and feelings leaving me vulnerable which is why I try not to rely on people. When I met/started dating my boyfriend, he showed me it was ok to rely on someone every once in a while. He showed me its ok to rely on others and to feel vulnerable sometimes. I rely on him and he relies on me. At first, it was hard to accept it but now I am ok with it.  absent absent

What life skills have you learned in high school that will help you live independently after high school? Which skills do you think are essential for your success after high school?

One life skill that I have learned in high school is how to manage my time wisely. It has helped me a lot in and out of school. Time management is a very useful skill that everyone will need to learn at some point in their life whether it is for school or not. Some skills that I believe will help me be successful after high school are communication, time management, and learning how to balance everything in my life. All of these skills will help me not only in school but also in life.  Today in class we continued to work on Rhetoric skills. I learned about many new types of Rhetorics.

Describe a time when you took a hiatus from something important. What led to the break, and how did it impact you?

Something that I took a hiatus from was horseback riding. I was forced to take a break from it because of my dad. He was the one who was paying for it and taking me. Then he stopped due to some personal reasons. It impacted me a lot because horseback riding was my life. It was what kept me happy and sane so one random day when I found out through a old family friend, not even my dad that I couldn't ride anymore, it broke my heart. I am able to come out sometimes but I have to pay for it myself. My dad promised me that I would be able to ride again soon but he lied. I don't think I will ever be able to go out on a normal regular schedule ever again.  Today in class we worked in our rhetoric books I learned about three new words

Use a hyperbole, an understatement, and a litotes to describe today's lesson.

Hyperbole - An exaggerated statement or claims not meant to be taken seriously. Understatement - When something is expressed not as strongly than it would be expected to Litotes - An  understatement in which an affirmative is expressed by the negative of the contrary absent absent

Reflect on how you spent your Holiday Break. Then, identify four personal you would like to achieve this year and briefly explain why each goal is important to you

My holiday break went well. I hung out with my friends and boyfriend. Also, I had to go to work but luckily it was a light work week.  1. One goal that I want to achieve this year is to clean my room and to maintain it. This goal is important because my room is always super messy, making it hard to find things and move around. How I will achieve this goal is Wednesday, when I don't have work, I will take the time to clean it. Once I have cleaned it, I will try my best to maintain keeping it clean.  2.  Another goal that I wish to obtain this year is that I want to try and go horseback riding more.  This is a very important goal to me because recently, I haven't been able to ride very often. It is a very long and complicated mess, which caused me to only be able to go maybe once every other week.  Kelsea, who is a mom that I am very close with that I love to ride with is the only one who will take me out to ride. Because of her, she said she ...
