What is the best piece of advice of that your parent or guardian has given you? Tell what the advice was and what prompted you to ask the question.
Some of the best advice that a guardian has ever given me was that its ok to ask and get help for my mental health. For many years, I refused to get help for my anxiety. I had many people tell me I needed to tell my parents so they could find someone who could help me. My trainer (for horse back Riding) recommended that I try anxiety medicine. I refused though because I was scared to admit I needed help. I didn't want anyone to know that I was struggling. She saw the worse of my struggles, as I tried to hide it from everyone else. Finally, after years of struggling and refusing to seek help, my sophomore chemistry teacher, Ms. Murphy, called my mom and said, "your daughter is struggling. You need to get her help." After that, my whole world changed. I went on medicine and I have never felt better. I wasn't having panic attacks every day, I didn't feel constantly anxious and worried. I felt like I could catch my breath for the first time. I don't know what I would do without Ms. Murphy or my coach Devon.
Today in class we worked on paper.
I learned more about rhetorical devices.
