Write about a truth you were afraid to accept.

 One truth that was hard for me to accept was the fact that I had to give up my lease on my horse. Riding has been apart of my life for 6 years now and I love it will all of my heart. My dad made some bad financial decisions and lost all of his money. That is why I had to give my lease up. Instead of going out to ride at least every other day, I now only get to go maybe once every other week. Riding has gotten me through so much. The thought of going from seeing all of them often to seeing them rarely broke my heart. Everyday it has been harder and harder to accept this new reality of mine. I hope that one day my dad can fix his mistakes so I will be able to be with my real family again. 

Today in class we learned about argumentative writing.

I learned about Ethos, Pathos, and Logos.

What metaphor would you use to describe your own mind?

 My mind is like a battlefield. Every day, all of my feelings, thoughts, and desires all face each other. It is a constant battle to see who is right. My mind is never calm, it is always thinking about something, or trying to figure something out. Every day, I have to have this battle to see if my negative or positive thoughts will win. Not just daily, but in every scenario I have to see who will win.  Today in class we analyzed more poems by Emily Dickerson. What I learned was I need to work on my deeper thinking skills. I have a hard time focusing on what I am reading so I need to learn to get better with that so I can analyze her poems better.

What life skills have you learned in high school that will help you live independently after high school? Which skills do you think are essential for your success after high school?

 One life skill that I have learned in high school is how to manage my time wisely. It has helped me a lot in and out of school. Time management is a very useful skill that everyone will need to learn at some point in their life whether it is for school or not. Some skills that I believe will help me be successful after high school are communication, time management, and learning how to balance everything in my life. All of these skills will help me not only in school but also in life.  Today in class we continued to work on Rhetoric skills. I learned about many new types of Rhetorics.
