Based on the first 40 minutes of the film and Chapters 1–11 of the book, does the visual version of Chris’s journey make his choices seem more justified or more reckless than the text does? Explain how the medium (film vs writing) shapes your perspective.

The film adaptation of the novel Into The Wild helps make Chris's choices more justified. The film makes Chris's journey seem easy and fun. It romanticizes his life and his escape. The film tries to make the audience feel like his journey was smart, easy, and fun.  The book on the other hand, makes the audience feel differently. The book wants the audience to see Chris's choice as reckless. The author wants the reader to understand the seriousness behind his choices; to see how he was stubborn and ignorant to the possible consequences.

Today in class we watched the film Into The Wild

I gained a new perspective about Chris's journey
