Write about the best gift you have received.

 The best gift I have ever received was a pair of gold hoops with amethysts. It was for my 16th birthday. That birthday, was not a good day for me. My parents were arguing about whose house I was going to stay at that year. Also, they completely ignored what I wanted. They wanted to go get seafood for dinner even though I am allergic, etc. Then my stepsister Abigail, came downstairs and said I have a gift for you. Then she gave me the hoops. She was the only person that day that listened to me, and thought out a gift. Ever since I was a kid, I have always loved gold and purple. She was the only one who remember that. That was the best gift I have ever received. 

Today we worked on Vocab lesson 5

I learned a lot of new words.

What metaphor would you use to describe your own mind?

 My mind is like a battlefield. Every day, all of my feelings, thoughts, and desires all face each other. It is a constant battle to see who is right. My mind is never calm, it is always thinking about something, or trying to figure something out. Every day, I have to have this battle to see if my negative or positive thoughts will win. Not just daily, but in every scenario I have to see who will win.  Today in class we analyzed more poems by Emily Dickerson. What I learned was I need to work on my deeper thinking skills. I have a hard time focusing on what I am reading so I need to learn to get better with that so I can analyze her poems better.

What life skills have you learned in high school that will help you live independently after high school? Which skills do you think are essential for your success after high school?

 One life skill that I have learned in high school is how to manage my time wisely. It has helped me a lot in and out of school. Time management is a very useful skill that everyone will need to learn at some point in their life whether it is for school or not. Some skills that I believe will help me be successful after high school are communication, time management, and learning how to balance everything in my life. All of these skills will help me not only in school but also in life.  Today in class we continued to work on Rhetoric skills. I learned about many new types of Rhetorics.
