Write about a moment when new information changed your perception of a person or situation. How did that “plot twist” reshape your understanding, the same way Faulkner’s ending reshapes the story?

When my non-blood mother Kelsea, (close family friend that I view as my mother) told me about her harsh childhood life, it made me view her and life differently. I have always been worried that I am going to turn out like my parents. When I told her this, she shared her story to me. Her parents were abusive and very cruel to her. She moved out at 16 and made her own life. She had no support or help but she made it through. She helped me realize that my family's bad choices don't have to reflect on me if I don't want them to. She is living proof of that. I am so thankful for her everyday, and I am glad she told me a part of her story.
