Describe a time that you had an encounter with a homeless person, either directly or indirectly. What did you think and how did it make you feel?

 I have had a lot of different encounters with homeless people. The most outrageous one that comes to mind was when I was with my step sister. We were stopping at a gas station to fill up our tank when a homeless  man came up to her. I was sitting in the car but we had the windows down so I could hear the conversation. She had on slides, and the man started to compliment her feet. She awkwardly said thank you and tried to end the conversation. He then asked her if it would be ok if he could take pictures of her feet. She declined, but he then asked if he could give her a foot massage. She declined again. He finally went away and we started dying laughing. I know that this story sounds very fake but this story is 100% true.

What metaphor would you use to describe your own mind?

 My mind is like a battlefield. Every day, all of my feelings, thoughts, and desires all face each other. It is a constant battle to see who is right. My mind is never calm, it is always thinking about something, or trying to figure something out. Every day, I have to have this battle to see if my negative or positive thoughts will win. Not just daily, but in every scenario I have to see who will win.  Today in class we analyzed more poems by Emily Dickerson. What I learned was I need to work on my deeper thinking skills. I have a hard time focusing on what I am reading so I need to learn to get better with that so I can analyze her poems better.

What life skills have you learned in high school that will help you live independently after high school? Which skills do you think are essential for your success after high school?

 One life skill that I have learned in high school is how to manage my time wisely. It has helped me a lot in and out of school. Time management is a very useful skill that everyone will need to learn at some point in their life whether it is for school or not. Some skills that I believe will help me be successful after high school are communication, time management, and learning how to balance everything in my life. All of these skills will help me not only in school but also in life.  Today in class we continued to work on Rhetoric skills. I learned about many new types of Rhetorics.
